The intent of the project was to redesign an existing building from an abandoned warehouse, into office space for a graphic design firm. The design had to include workspace for ten graphic designers, one floor manager, and offices for the two owners of the company, as well as conference rooms and a photo/print lab.
Exterior Perspective
The design focused around existing exposed roof trusses that were used to support the roof, as well as move large parts around in its warehouse days. The roof trusses were extended beyond the exterior wall to create an overhang for sunlight control and create a sign for the company. The exterior walls of the entrance and adjacent side were turned into a curtain wall, but the framework for that, as well as the interior framework, and columns, was based on the trusses’design.
